Electric current measurement at the range of μA in integrated circuit has been traditionally carried out by micro-electronically engineered systems, such as current mirrors or charging capacitors. However, off-line, i.e., non-intrusive methods provide advantages related to size and power consumption. In this sense, giant magnetoresistance (GMR) magnetic sensors are optimal due to their sensitivity and CMOS compatibility. CMOS Photodiode Design for Gamma Camera Application

We designed new photodiodes sensors including current mirror amplifiers. These photodiodes have been fabricated using a CMOS 0.6 micrometers process from Austria Micro System (AMS). The photodiode areas are respectively 1 mm × 1 mm and 0.4 mm × 0.4 mm with fill factor 98% and total chip area is 2 square millimetres. The sensor pixels show a logarithmic response in illumination and are capable of detecting very low blue light (less than 0.5 lux) . These results allow to use our sensor in new gamma camera solid-state concept.

Transconductance Converters Based on Current Mirrors Applied to pH Measurement Using ISFET Sensors

New transconductance circuits (V/I converters) are designed based on current mirrors and operational amplifiers. Their input/output characteristics and the influence of DC parameters are obtained. Experimental results were performed, comparing them with the simulated results. An electronic instrumentation circuit is designed based on one of the transconductance converters analyzed. The purpose of this circuit was to condition the response of an ion-sensitive field-effect transistor (ISFET) to measure pH. An integrated calibration system for liquid argon calorimetry

Abstract A novel technical solution for an integrated version of the pulse generator of a calibration system for liquid argon calorimeters is presented. It consists of a differential amplifier with automatic offset compensation, a current mirror and a switching logic. These components are integrated on an ASIC chip in CMOS technology. The technical realisation as well as results on the performance are presented.

Single Event Transients and Pulse Quenching Effects in Bandgap Reference Topologies for Space Applications

An architectural performance comparison of bandgap voltage reference variants, designed in a $0.18~\mu \text {m}$ CMOS process, is performed with respect to single event transients. These are commonly induced in microelectronics in the space radiation environment. Heavy ion tests (Silicon, Krypton, Xenon) are used to explore the analog single-event transients and have revealed pulse quenching mechanisms in analogue circuits. The different topologies are compared, in terms of cross-section, pulse duration and pulse amplitude.
